World.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-49048916 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"49048916\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Born Musa Appreciate Makamu, the musician was slapped with a bill over R700\u2005000 by the record label for allegedly breaching the contract in 2022.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Musa Keys entered into an exclusive digital distribution agreement with Electromode on April 4 2021 to distribute his songs and cinematographics via the internet, mobile, and telecommunications companies.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-42e061ce elementor-section-content-middle elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default end after 36 months, with an option for the musician to renew it for 12 months.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section \/><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5ab18cb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5ab18cb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The company said Musa Keys was not supposed to cancel the agreement until all the money due to Electromode was paid in full.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If he decided to terminate the contract, he was expected to give 30 days\u2019 notice to remove his content from all the platforms.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Electromode said Musa Keys breached the terms and conditions of their contract when he, through an agent, gave it notice to cancel the agreement on May 3 2022.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2542b231 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"2542b231\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7d5d99be elementor-widget class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">His hitsong \u201cWena\u201d stormed the charts, and the musician was due to pocket 70% and pay the company 30% of the royalties he would have amassed from the distribution of his work.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The company said the artist from Giyani in Limpopo had granted it the sole and exclusive rights to distribute his content and to make it available worldwide to end-to-end users.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to the court papers that we have seen, the high court in Johannesburg ruled that Electromode\/Ingrooves would pay Musa Keys R463 050.30.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-46618379 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"46618379\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The relief claimed in the court papers of the amended notice of motion was also refused.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In terms of a counter application, Musa Keys\u2019 notice of cancellation was found to be invalid.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He is also obliged to comply with his obligations in terms of the exclusive distribution agreement dated April 4 2021.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Musa Keys was ordered to provide Electromode\/Ingrooves with their sound recordings, cinematographic films, album cover artwork, and any other artwork or images in terms of the distribution agreement. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
